I have to go through the links people have posted closer. The links as they are posted are not valid URL's. I will be visiting each page to get the full length of the URL and then add it to the links page.

As a sidenote, I don't really care for a 'Tank Of The Quarter' or 'Tank Of The Month'. I'd rather see a 'Featured Tank Of The Month' or something long those lines. We don't have that many members and turning this into a contest of sorts or declaring 'winners' may be fine on RC where you have 100,000 members but probably not within the club.

For example, I don't have a tank of the month tank at home but I do spend a decent amount of time working on it and hopefully others may learn a thing or two if my aquarium was featured someday, just like other tanks that I know I could learn from (whether they are full of a bazliioin dollars worth of rare corals or not).

Hopefully that makes sense anyway.

Makes perfect sense. If no one opposes your suggestion, I agree it should be changed to "Featured Tank."

I think that is what we all kind of talked about at the meeting. We did not want the feeling that this was a "contest" and I guess TOTM is can come off as that. Featured tank sounds much better. Then over the years hopefully everyone's tank will be featured. We do need to come up with a form though. One that the persons tank that we feature can fill out all the information on and that way we will have the format already in place for the website. All we will have to do is insert the new information and the new pictures.

The site is maintained with DreamWeaver, so it is pretty easy to update.

I think that a "Featured Tank of the Quarter" is a good idea. The only problem i see is that with only 4 tanks per year, very few people will ever get a chance to have their tank shown. That being said, I think we need to find a way to decide which tank will be featured and decide how many tanks we will feature per year. Maybe a new featured tank every other month would work better. As far as avoiding a competition, we could just randomly select a winner from a list of people interested in having their tank featured.

At the meeting where we discussed the website I offered to take the pics for the featured tank articles. I am still willing and able to do so. I think that the featured tank section of the website will be a lot of fun. Let's work out the detail so we can get started.

I think I will change the format to "GIRS Featured Tank" and that way there is no time associated to the posting. We can then change the featured tank as seen fit to do so. We can then link to the past featured tanks.

We have enough members to feature a tank every month don't we? That way we have a lot of members that get the chance to have their tank featured throughout the year.

Unless of course that would be too much work and if that's the case I would completely understand since this is a club and we do this for the love of the hobby after all.

Great Job on the website! I agree that a monthly featured tank would be nice. It would give us an opportunity to see different tanks and it alway's nice when a websites content changes periodically.

We should actually create a quick form to fill out so someone can list all the "vital stats" and submit a few pics and Chris can upload it in a few seconds

Know what I mean??? That way we could ask if anyone wants to submt and then that person would not have to write up a volume but fill in some fields and provide some pics - just trying to live by the KISS priniciple here....

i think having a tank of the month would be a bit excessive and definitely a lot of work, but having at least four to six a year is a good idea.

also, you should update my name on the members list - it's "Sarah" not "Sara" (a pet peeve of mine)
