are (is) my clean up crew in trouble from hi trates ?

If your cleanup crew is doing OK now, they won't be suffering from a few more days (or weeks) of moderate nitrates. I wouldn't introduce any clams or SPS right now, but soft corals would probably be OK.

At four weeks with these readings your biofilter has just started to fully establish itself. You've probably got an algae bloom or two in store, but those will pass. I wouldn't add anything else for a few weeks.

While you're waiting, watch pods (the clowns will eat a bunch of them, which is why some folks wait a few more weeks/months before adding fish & crustaceans) and search for the Waterkeeper "Newbie" threads. Good stuff, and not as "dry" as a lot of how-to info.

Best of luck,

John
