What are the easiest corals to maintain? Which corals are the best to start with. Any pics and care info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In my opinion, I would start with some zoanthoids... They are hardy corals, they come in all sorts of sizes and amazing colors. Here are 3 different colonies that I have in my tank

candy cane is easy. Hammer is quite forgiving---I had a baby frag last through new tank setup (well, it was on very old rock). Leathers are flashy but can give off chemicals that bother other corals. Read about the light, placement and habits (like nighttime feeder extensions) and flow level before you purchase. There are good resources in these forums, or just ask someone about a particular coral.

If you havent cared for corals yet or the tank is fairly new, I would start off with leathers, mushrooms, zoos, polyp corals, kenya tree.
The hammer corals demand more light as they are LPS and also require a maturer tank.
I would start of with any of those, they are hardy and are cool looking corals. There are alot of colors within that list that you can choose from to diversify the tank.

I would say figure out what you would like to have in the end and read up on how to care for them.

Why waste money on something you don't really want? Just make sure that you can take care of them before you actually throw some money down and bring them home.
