Hello all,

I am an aquarist along with my wife. We currently have 4 fresh tanks and 1 brackish tank running in our apartment and by way of a very kind soul have come into possession of a 125 gallon glass saltwater tank bottom drilled. Its missing quite a few items as the man I got it from tried to get rid of it earlier but the person who came to get it only took a bunch of the accessories and never got the right equipment to get the tank and stand.

I need to make up a list of things I will need to get the tank up and running. So, I turned to this site for the best possible answers.

It did come with some crushed coral, but I am not sure if this will be acceptable in the long run for what I want to do with the tank.

We will not be making a reef tank right away as we are in an apartment and plan to move into a house once our lease is up if we can...

I will post pictures in a few minutes. The tank is 15 or so years old, but sturdy as hell, 1/2" glass all around.

So, start throwing things my way and I can tape a list to the front of the tank to get it in my mind of what I'll need.

And thanks for your time!

Welcome...

Best option might be to pick a specific direction for the tank as you want to set it up, and perhaps post a few pics of the equipment you have.

If not going w/ corals, lighting becomes far less of an issue.... A good skimmer is always high on my list, sand vs crushed coral is a discussion that could go on all night. Etc....

They aren't the greatest pics, but maybe I'll post more later. I think we are going to set this one up as a freshwater for now, and a reef/community tank later when we get into a house.
