Nitrate and Coralline algae

I recently (maybe 1 1/2 months ago) added some base rock to my tank. My hope is that coralline algae grows over it. The rock was almost immediatly taken over with green algae. I was told this is fairly normal and that it will eventualy be taken over by coralline. My question is, how much does nitrate really inhibit the growth of coralline? Right now my nitrates are about 10, a little high, i know. Also, how long will the coralline take to start growing on the rock? ( hope I don't sound immpatient, i know it will take time, just wondering how much)

Water parameters

Ammonia=0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=10
Calcium=460
KH=8.6dKH
Magnesium=1400ppm

phosphates are worse for coraline growth.....bury the rock in the back...will purple up once green is gone
