I have an extra Aqua Illumination - Hydra 26, and i wanted to know what settings would give *maximum* macro algae growth?

I could be wrong but I would think reds and blues would be the best for this.

You are half right! I ended up emailing Bulk Reef Supplies. They said RED, GREEN, and WHITE. The other hues wouldn't help with growth.

the algae will be seen as what ever color the algae does not use in other words a green macro is reflecting Green light because it does not need it

I have concluded that BRS customer service didn't know. I ended up doing blue and reds only. Having this redish purple hue. ​

In my opinion, a lot of people overthink light spectrum for macros. These plants grow in shallow water, in full sun, which means that no colors are filtered out, so full spectrum.
