Nutri Seawater "live water"

Dude...That stuff is $17.95 for 2.2 Gal. That is almost $9.00 a gal! That would cost me $360 a month to do water changes. That has got to be one of the biggest scams I've seen. I'd stick with mixing up salt IMO.

WOW, that's crazy. Weekly water changes on my 35g would cost around $200/mo. You're kidding me!

Seriously, synthetic salt mix is time-tested, effective and most of all, affordable.

Again, a cure for something that isn't a problem yet. I mean, are people haveing problems with synthetic sea salts? Was there such a big problem that they needed to develop a 9 dollar/gallon solution?

Snake oil i guess.

besides the cost of the product, what do you think? By the way I pay $18.99 for 4.4 gal. so I pay basically $20 a month for my 12 gal tank. I just feel there are the benefical trace elements and for me no room for a mixture mistake, call me lazy or whatever. Like I said take out the cost factor and just go on quality of product, that is what I want to know.
Thank you

I've used Instant Ocean for years mixed with RO/DI water. It always has the necessary trace minerals, alk, calcium, ph, etc. etc. It's easy to mix and attain the right salinity.

I paid $120 four years ago for the RO/DI and $32 for a 200gallon mix of IO and that's all the expense I have to do as many water changes I want. I figure I pay roughly $4 / month to change 20 gallons of water in my 35 gallons tank ( 5 gallons / week)

And I guess my question would be, why do we need water that is 'alive'? That's what we have live rock and sand for.... And how does this water stay 'alive' in the mean time? I've learned the hard way that living water from the ocean dies off in a bucket in no time, fouling the water completely.

I think you'll have a hard time finding someone around here that will or has tried this product, considering all the information and affordable solutions we have to make salt water ourselves.
