Observations on PSK-600 vs Bubbleblaster 1000

Well as long as the water draw ratio is appropriate for the tank and return rate, a closer air to water ratio will mean more filtration.

That is, I think for beginners, a Sicce pump with a higher water draw might be more appropriate and more stable but for a properly balanced system, I'd much rather have the enhanced filtration from the closer air:water ratios.

Remember the even at a ratio 2:1, that one part of air can very easily meet that second part of water some where in the reaction chamber. And remember that only 30 percent of TOC can be removed. At that point you are skinning hairs. Also you may not need that much air in the skimmer if there is very little organics to skim. You may be better of having more water to circulate through the skimmer to get rid of the last little bit of organics faster. Hence Beckets or downdrafts. They work on removing organics fast. Who can argue that they don't work well in large systems. If it weren't for energy costs and inconvenience most would still be using them today.
