i have a ocean runner 6500 that started making noise and not pumping, took it apart and it seems to be the ceramic shaft thru the impeller is snapped in 2.

anyone know of a place in Ohio to get a part? i have the part # just want to get up and running as fast as i can. i found a retailer in California that would have to order it like 2 weeks.

the only thing going now is my eheim 300 gph pump. would like to get my circulation going again.

or anyone have a extra in sump pump i can use until my part gets here? like mag 9 or larger

I've got an ocean runner somewhere that you can borrow until your parts get in. 900 gph I think.

Let me know when you can pick it up.

Sorry I couldn't make lunch. You can swing by tonight. Probably after the meeting. I might work until 7 pm. Worst case, I'll leave it on the doorstep for you. PM me with a time you can stop by. I'll give you my addy.

pm sent.

USAquatics, i would but the shaft has siezed to the impell/magnet assembly and i need the whole setup including the rubber bearings and impeller

Woody,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news,
but...
you may have a longer wait for that impellar than expected. Ocean Runner is distributed in the US by Aqua Medic. Aqua Medic had a fire in Jan 06' that destroyed their facility. Unless you find an outlet that had inventory you may well be in for a wait. Good Luck.

Woody, I have an OR 6500 that had the same problem. I soaked the impeller assembly in vinegar until the shaft was free and just made sure that the two pieces didn't bind. It has been running non-stop for several months now.

the 2 shafts tore each other up pretty bad, i picked up alot of ceramic from the sump. i dont have much left to soak.

after running the smaller pump now i realize what i want is a slow sump with a high flow closed loop. it is sooo much quieter and no micro bubbkles at all with a small pump. most likely i will put the ocean runner on the closed loop with about 700-900 per hour thru the sump

I had my OR on a closed loop for a while, it worked well but dripped a little from the inlet. I didn't like the way that the inlet used the oring to seal. It is a nice pump though.
