Oceans Motions Alternative

I have seen in the past where people have used a motorized ball valve on a closed loop to alternate flow from one side of a tank to the other. Are there really any type of problems with this type of set up? I was thinking of splitting the returns off of each side of the valve and running to mulitiple outlet points. Any thoughts? Bad idea?

They are very expensive and not meant to be used in constant motion like that. In my opinion there is no substitute for a real OM 4way. One of the finest engineered pieces of equipment I own.

I know they are generally expensive but I found a good deal on a DC actuator and 3 way valve. I figured a DC driven actuator that works a 2-inch 3-way valve might not be a bad alternative.
