had him for about a month and a half he is about 5-6 inchs long when not stretching
changes from golden to purple to solid white and loves to put ona show for people, eats anything except my chromie that shares the tank

you sure its vulgaris cuz those can get really big. Youd need a minimum tank of 120 gallons to keep it..
Does it have eyespots? and do you know where it is originally from?
 
there reeef safe but not invert safe, i feed him all kinds of foods, live shrimp forzen, sliversides, clams, snails, crabs, i have him with a bunch of zoas too.
 
yea ive kept A. Aculeatus in reefs before, and even with a few fast moving fish so they are definitely reef safe.
Tonmo.com is an amazing website to get info about keeping octopuses. I currently have an o. hummellincki and it is very interesting and fun to interact with him. They can be trained to eat thawed raw shrimp, and i also give mine a few live shrimps every now and then to watch him hunt.
If i had another tank i would be all over this, o vulgaris are not commonly sold, and make great pets if you have a large enough aquarium.
