also my other clown is fine. i do not see any spots or anything on the clown it is just his eye.

The swollen eye sounds like a bacterial issue ... often caused by netting. A swollen or bulging eye by itself is often not a big deal and can cure itself if you maintain water quality .. or you can Qt and treat with an antibiotic. The "laying down" stuff is much more serious and can be a sign of a number of problems .. ranging from disease to simple stress.

In the interim I would recommend you setup a QT ... should be lots of posts on how to do this .. might try the disease forum.

if it were me I wouldnt QT the animal. I think the added stress of being moved etc will not help.

Doing a water change to improve water quality would be my advice. it looks very stressed and if its eye was damaged and an infection occured, less stress and better water will help it improve.

If you felt medication was necissary that is when I would move to the QT.

HTH, its JMO

ok, i really am against putting it in a QT now i know how stressed it is and i think it would make it worse.

Qting fish is not stressful - catching a clownfish is about as simple as it gets. Placing a fish into a ST without prior QT was your first mistake and I would not compound it by delaying placing the fish in a Qt.

ok then mabye i will QT them. is there any good pages on it one fish has internail parasites and the other Popeye what do you treat them for.

Popeye is normally environmental or trauma induced. If you will not QT (which I think is a mistake too for how easy clownfish are to catch) I would do major water changes and enrich their foods, hope for the best.

A simple bacterial issue can normally be treated by using a double dose of Maracyn 2 within a QT . However Maracyn 2 (minocycline) isn't as effective if your dealing with a more significant problem like an internal infection. In that case use of a stronger antibiotic like Kanamycin or nitrofurazone may be in order - normally administered in both the water column as well as the food. Seachem sells a product called kanaplex which has kanamycin and they also sell a product called Focus which will help bind the antibiotic to the food.

Heres a link discussing internal infections --- if you shop around within this website you will see some good info on how to setup a QT as well as info on other diseases.

Heres a link to the Seachem website which will give you some info on the products I mentioned.

Hope this helps.

Several of the pics are too dark for me to see and the one pic that I can view doesn't reveal much. The fish in the one clear pic appears to be sitting upright on-top of the substrate .. left eye might appear extended but angle is not right to get a clear view.
