Old rock treated with copper

I have about 100lbs of rock that was treated with copper in an old system. I have read posts advising not to use this rock in a reef setup. I have this old rock dryer up in a garbage can. Is it possible to use this rock in a new reef tank if I run poly filter or cuprisorb. The taught process is that any excess copper that leaches out will be absorbed by the medias.

I think you could leach out the copper, but I wouldn't do it in a live system. I suggest putting the rock in freshwater with some circulation and either the poly filter or cuprisorb. If you can get it so a copper test reads zero in the absence of the filter media, it should be ok.
