Open brain coral help

Anybody ever see an open brain coral show skeleton from the inside ring? It seems fully extended and took a chunk of shrimp yesterday. Just noticed this today and not sure if its maybe getting to much flow or something else. Anybody have any ideas? Coral is at the bottom of my 220 gallon 36" tall tank. All other corals seem happy. Only issue is a cyano outbreak right now that im working on.

Hopefully pic attached correctly. Algae is on glass as coral has slid right up next to it so i cant clean it easily.

Turned my pumps down to see how it reacts. I have a jaebo pp8 a pp20 and a mp 40 vorteck on the tank. Its 5 ft long by 2 ft wide by 3 ft tall. All pumps are at half speed. Tank is a peninsula so all pumps are on opposite end of tank. Tank is mixed reef. Thinking i may try moving the coral as the corners seem to get hammered with flow. Not sure if this is the cause but moving it will be a pain. 36 inch deep is not fun to work on.

I have a blood fire shrimp on the tank but its pretty reclusive. Only see it when i feed

Shrimps like this have been known to pick at various LPS corals after they've been fed. You might want to stop feeding the coral for the next week or so and see if the tissue heals up first.

Ok ill try that. I also fed a much larger piece of shrimp then i normally do. Maybe one of my fish ripped it out. I have a harlequin tusk that can rip food to shreds and is always hungry.

Also if it was too much flow wouldnt the brain coral just not open fully? It seems to open just fine. So maybe that eliminates flow feom the equation
