orange brick sponge make 2 out of 1

I guess I really have 2 ?,s first ,I have an orange brick sponge and I,d like to some how make it 2 pieces and not first if it can be done and second how it can be done. Any help and I,d be grateful . Second I dont know if there is a place at this site or not but often I buy coral,s on site with excitement and when I get home I forget what I,ve bought so I,d like to know if theres a site that anyone can recomend and a good book that anyone could recomend as always thanx a head of time.
