Oh, I am definately soaking the food in garlic xtreme, the algae too. The yellow tang bothers him though somewhat. I called the 1-800 number twice on 2 things. The first thing was when I first got him he repeatedly swam right into the wall, turned around, and did it again. He quit that it seems. The next thing was his stomache. I thought it was just like that today since he hasn't ate the frozen or dry foods since Tuesday, but I looked at pictures from the 24th and he must have arrived with a little shrunk stomache. You can see a dent here in this picture:
It doesn't seem that bad, but I think it maybe shrunk more since 2 days ago. I was told the yellow tang may be causing him not to eat, but I target fed the powder brown and he just kind of swims away from it. No doubt, this fish is not skiddish at all. Out of all the stores, your fish are never skiddish. My yellow tang is still skiddish after 5 or 6 months, this powder brown you can be right up to the glass and he will be there too right at the glass, so he isn't afraid of the target feeding of the tube being right near him for the food, he just doesn't take it, but like you said it may take a few days. That is why I don't think it is the yellow tang though since even with target feeding he didn't eat it.
Seems like it is getting better, but I put 2 mirrors up, the yellow tang doesn't seem to flare as much, and if he does, maybe not slap as much.
6:32, just watched and both tangs swam out together, yellow tangs fins are down and not flared up and just ignores him. Good sign, but most of the time it seems like he follows the powder around nonstop. Only 3 days now so maybe it isn't enough time yet.
I did try catching the yellow tang, but like I said, it is so skiddish you would never get him. The powder brown I could probably hand catch lol.
Overall, I am happy about this order, not trying to get on the wrong foot here, he is amazing. Just was conserned about the yellow tang and the eating thing. Here are some more pictures:
