ORP extremely high

I posted this on the chemistry forum:

I wonder why the ORP in my system is so high. see chart below, it peaks daily at 470+. This probe is only 1 month old. I've read the ORP article.

...and Randy told me i need to calibrate the ORP probe. How do I calibrate it?
 
Do you have pH compensation turned on? If so, then the compensation factor raises the ORP by about 58 mV per pH unit above ph=7.0 (probably 80-90 mVs).
Have you cleaned the probe? Use a soft bristled toothbrush to remove the biofilm that develops on the tip of the probe.
To calibrate the probe you need quinhydrone, pH 4.0 and ph 7.0 calibration solution. The calibration procedure is discribed in the AquaController manual.
