We are very sad to consider finding a new home for Stella, but my son's allergies are worse with her in our house. I knew it was the best thing, but it took me months to finally go through with this b/c I love her so much. She is an inside dog and I would like her to go to a home where she will be inside a good amount of the time. A yard is great- we have a small townhouse yard.

She loves to lay around, play, run, and especially snuggle. She is great with children and one of the sweetest and most beautiful dogs.

She comes with everything needed and a good supply of Advantage

Please let me know if you might be interested or know of a potential good home.

Thanks

ask in the Lounge; dogs are a frequent topic, and there are a lot of dog lovers. She's beautiful. So sad for you.

anyway you can treat your sons allergies and still keep the dog? seems such a shame to get rid of her, good luck

My son is already on two allergy meds everyday. And you are right. It is a shame to get rid of her, but I think I have to.

The dog is awesome...so gentle..I went by to pick up some rocks and my son and Stella just played and played...really great and loving dog...The picture does her no justice she is absolutely striking when you first see her...

Nate, i've had allergies all my life. I was scratch tested and had a reaction to every single thing they tested me with. I've been on every allergy medicine known to man and none of them did anything except one. It's actually an asthma medication but i take it through the nose with a baby bottle nipple adapted to the tip of the inhaler. It's called Qvar. Since starting it over 10 months ago, i have not had one day of allergies and am able to be around cats and dogs and even deal with the santa ana winds with absolutely no reactions. My doc said she doesn't know of any other docs prescribing this medicine for allergies other than her but it is certainly worth checking out.

What a sad and tough decision you must make. She's a beaut...how old is she?

I've been contemplating getting another dog since ours passed a couple years back. I may be interested, but I need to research the breed a bit. Being a Siberian Husky, I assume she likes to run? That would be a bonus since I am looking also for a running partner to replace our previous dog, Buster...RIP:(

Wow- thanks everyone for the tips, info, interest. BTW, Stella is 1.5 years old.

I figured if I posted here, I would get some really good possibilities for a new home for Stella, but I had no idea; everyone who is interested or, knows someone, is definitely concerned about providing an excellent home.

CJ- your allergies sound horrendous. I am going to look into Qvar for my whole family. Does it have any side affects?

glaudds- she loves to run, she also loves to lay around and she wishes she was a lap-size dog too

And, my wife and i are gone during the daytime and Stella is outside. My neighbors all tell me she never makes a peep.

Thanks again everyone!

And Jerry- Harley-J- thanks. I don't get to meet that many people from RC very often cuz of time. Nice to meet you and your son- awesome kid- and thanks for making our transaction easy. Hopefully we'll cross paths again in the future...

Is she spayed? My brother currently has a 1.5 yr old male german shepard and he's not neutered. I don't want a bunch of husky/shepard pups running around in a couple months.

I am interested. My fiance has always wanted a Siberian husky. We already have 2 dogs and everyone jokes with us and calls our dogs our kids, we are hardcore dog lovers. We own our house but have a small yard but we walk our dogs regularly and our dogs are ONLY inside dogs. Our 2 dogs are small so maybe we can do a test run, I'll PM you.

they used to be until this medicine. only side affect i've noticed is a foul smell from time to time coming from my nose. :) i guess when it's used as an asthma inhaler it can cause a fungal infection in your throat so they tell you to wash your mouth out soon after taking it. not much you can do with the nose. i just dialed back my dosage to 3 times a week and the smell has gone away and still no allergies.

good luck.

oooh, wow. Thats good to know.. I am freaky allergic to cats. They make my throat swell shut, not enough to harm but def. enough to mess up my breathing badly.
