I have one and love it. I honestly think that those people who are trashing it had their reviews written before ever getting the phone in their hands. They were salivating at the oppotunity to knock something that was so highly hyped!
Are there annoyances, sure. But there is no such thing as a perfect phone. It's just that the iphone comes alot closer than anything else on the market.
My biggest fear was going from Sprint to AT&T (who I think must be the most screwed up, poorly run company in the country). However, I'm pleased to report I have had FAR fewer dropped calls with AT&T than I had with Sprint.
I went to the DF&S conference this past weekend and I had service all the way up to Rhinelander - not one single blackhole.
Plus this whole 3G thing is bogus. 3G would have killed the battery and there are so many Wi-Fi hotspots out there (which runs circles around 3G speeds) its crazy.
Typing? I'm a big guy and I was having lots of errors at first, but after about 3 days of messing around on it you learn exactly how and where to hit the keys and the errors diminish dramatically.
I've gotta say overall I'm very impressed.
