Get yourself a Linksys WRT54G. On sale at Officemax for about $50. They are manufactured by Cisco and have teriffic support.

I got a Dewalt router for X-mas but it has a cord too. It doesn't have a plunge though.

The Ryobi I got for christmas (must've been the year for routers) has a cord also, I tried to use it without plugging in the cord but I couldn't figure out how to spin the bit...

I checked my router again and it has a wire too
