My cat Keiki was diagnosed with IBD or IBS. I forget which one. Irritable bowel disease/syndrome. She also has cancer and had a large mass removed from her intestine.
She is now on prednisone, reglan and will soon be on leukeran. We have been feeding her Hills Prescription Diet d/d which is $55.00 for 8pds from the vet. A prescription for this food is required which I think is stupid. It doesn't have any drugs in it. Also, neither cat likes it as much as the Iams.
Does anyone know of a good single different protein (duck, venison, lamb, rabbit, etc.) food that is low in carbs? I am also looking for a food that doesn't have so many ingredients.
I have been doing a lot of reading on different foods and I am confused on what are the best ingredients are best.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
