OT: Disk Golf

We got together with Rod and CraftyTony last night to play disk golf (frisbee golf) Are there any other players out there?
 
I've never played, but I work with a guy who plays competitions. He's at a week long competition is south bend this week.
 
Disc golf. I play. Its pretty much the greatest free game out there.
Free, fun, beer is required, and all this outside enjoying all types of natural landscapes. Damn I might go play right now.
 
Rod plays disc golf? I've played ultimate for some 24 yrs now. But I can't play golf worth a darn.

Yep, but usually not very well. Once in awhile I get a great game, but I usually am pretty bad considering how often I play
 
The only disc I can make go where I want it to is a 175 (ultimate disc). Those golf discs? Not a chance.
 
Heres a Link for Disc Golf Courses search page. There seem to be a lot of small 9 holes around.

Looks like there's a park in Rockford that has 2 different 18 hole courses. Im thinking thats a good "next time"
 
I like that course alot too basile. West Park is the nicest course out that way.(off Larkin)

Ive only been to two. Mokena and Channahon. Mokena is awesome as it is 27 holes. Its kept up really nice as well. Channahon is a tougher course because it has lots of brush surrounding the fairways. There is one in Shorewood as well and another one close to Mokena (can't remember the name though).

If anyone heads up to any of these, give me a PM! Would love to go out and play.

Alcohol is a no no at both places, but I have a hydration pack I fill with some tastyness. O)
 
havent been to west park, maybe ill have to check that out! too bad im going back to school in a few days, otherwise i would go with everyone

Sounds like a plan to me....maybe cook out while we're out there or just go out for dinner....

just please don't destroy us like you did at lippold! lol
 
Dan, nice to know I have a playing partner out west, I'm down for a round now and again. LMK, I'll do the same.

I didn't "destroy" you guys, at least not on purpose. :) I'm thinking maybe we could do Rockford on a Saturday in the next couple of weeks. LMK

So how do you kids play this game? What are the basic rules/objectives? Can I smoke while I play? :smokin: I might have to try this...;)
