Hi, my little dog just got fleas like last week and now we are starting to notice them, i.e. one jumped on me and scared the crap outta me... How would you remove them naturally and efficiently in the house like carpets and furniture w/o foggers (cuz of the aquarium duhh)? I do have the dog in check with meds im getting him 2morrow. Please help as this is my first time dealing with them.

Mule team borax. It's a powder detergent soap. Sprinkle on your carpet and it will kill them. It makes the larvae come up out of the carpet so be ready for a gross site if there are enough.

Prevention is worth a pound of cure...K9 Advantix every month will solve the problem of your dog bringing them in the house.

I just picked up some diatomaceous earth from a friend and im gonna test it out. If not i'll try the borax. I've also heard washing your dog in joy or dawn works well w/ removing the fleas, has anyone tried it? Also same with baking soda +salt for the carpet.

I've heard dawn works, also read that just about any soap will work if you let it sit for about 7 minutes before you rinse your dog. Borax works well on carpet but you gotta leave it for 24-48 hours before you vacuum.

I had a flea infestation once. I put Advantix on the dog, and you could see the fleas dying. The vet said dont worry about the fleas in the house, as they would just jump on the dog and die. He was right, soon after I put the advantix on, never saw a flea again.

Loaded question...
Best answer: IMMEDIATE...within two hours of adm ...Capstar. Give one pill orally and fleas will be dead in 10 minutes. Only issue it only last 24 hours. I suggest using capstar and then following it up with frontline plus or comforts.
Best two available today.
All the other ones IMO as veterinarian....DO NOT WORK
As far as home good ol soap and water in the washing machine for bedding and regular vacuum of the house will do

Thank you doggydoc for the response as well as everyone above. I have started washing all the dog's things in detergent and vacuuming the rugs and couches.
hopefully they will go away...
I also brought my dog to the vet and they gave him some type of medication that instantly kills fleas and i got frontline plus to prevent it in the future. ugh.. those fleas are nasty lol.

Yeah they gave him capstar... doggydoc what is your view on trifexis? my vet prescribed it to my dog as it protects against fleas and worms, etc.

IMO I do not rec it. Its not the best, but you can use it as an alternative to other products since its a generic less expensive product
But it does work don't get me wrong.
I just DO NOT use it on my pets
