I have access to any of these from a supplier. (This is a Reef Related post as I want the ability to save the addresses of all my favorite LFS's!!)

Any comments or recommendations on one over the other??

Magellan Maestro 3100
Mio C320
Tom Tom One 3rd edition

Thanks!

I have the Maestro 3200, it's a new model that just came out. Got it last week and I like it so far. Takes some funky routes that make you scratch your head if you know of a shortcut but overall it gets you there.

One thing, it doesn't call out the street names like Garmins do, it just says "Turn Right" where the Garmins will say "Turn Right On North Avenue".

Also, something I haven't had time to look into on my new unit, is the ability to update the maps. Some can do it from the car automatically, some need to be plugged into the computer and have maps downloaded and some might not be updatable at all.
I need to read the manual with the 3200 and find out about this.

I just got TomTom One over the weekends. The one I got is LE, only sold by Best Buy. It works pretty well. TomTom One 3rd edition should be fine too for the price.

i have the magelan meastro 3250, its like the 3200 but it has bluetooth, live traffic and it calls out the street names instead of just saying turn in 500ft. i like it alot. and you can add your own points of intrest via SD card.

Personally I'd stay as far away from Magellan as possible. From personal experience I can tell you that when (read as not if but WHEN) you have a problem their internationally outsourced customer service really sucks. And when you finally get them to give you an RMA it is impossible to get an update as far as the repair. Aso they charge $70.00 to update the maps on your unit.

Save money and buy a Garmin. Less expensive then Magellan or Tom Tom (the commercials alone would keep me away from them), better quality, and last I knew there was a repair depot in the Carol Stream area.

Im thinking of getting a Tom Tom. Right now, Sharper Image has a sale on one of the Tom Toms, regularly $250, now $150 until sometime in January. I have always relied on Mapquest to get me places... but at $150 its too cheap to pass up.

Also check buy.com and amazon.com for good deals and often there is free shipping. Just be aware that when you choose the super-saver shipping at amazon they will take sometimes more then a week to process it. The fullfilment center is in KY so it's about like ordering from PA. Usually receive it the day after it leaves the warehouse. For my money, if you want it right away, I'd upgrade to standard UPS shipping. Usually only costs about $5.00 and you have it next day.

I personally have Garmin Nuvi 660 and just love it but it has xtra stuff like mp3 player, bluetooth, radio, pics and other stuff that may not be needed by everyone and offcourse it also comes with a high price tag.
having said that, HSN had tom tom 2 for $300 and plus they have payment plan with shipping of like $10 or less. check it out.
