The great lakes are perhaps the best place for wreck diving. Quite a few right here in Lake Michigan. In July through September the water is quite nice, with visability that will crush any quarry (with the exception of Haigh during it's first open season). Vis in Lake Michigan is easily 45 feet or better.

I must add at this point that although the Lady Elgin is a beautiful wreck dive, between 4 and 5 hundred people died on her.

There's a great dive club out of Lagrange called Atlantis Divers.
They were involved in creating the first open water cirtification offered anywhere and as I understand it all of the other programs have branched off of them. YMCA.

They do pumpkin diving in France Park, each year depending on attendance. A great group.
