OT: is this spider safe?

or should i squish it?

it is huge...the abdomen is about the size of my finger tip!

that thing is sweet. looks like a green lynx spider. they are supposedly good for insect control.
 
i left the guy alone but he sure did freak me out when i was catching %$^@#% grasshoppers that are eating my flowers and fruit tree leaves!

nothing like a freakishly huge spider to make your heart jump to 180 beats per min in about half a second!

it actually is quite nice to look atbut not when youre about the grab hold of a grasshopper only to be less than an inch from grabbing it by mistake!!!
 
it is a greeen lynx spider she looks pretty heavy with eggs that is why she is eating every insect in sight she will probably lay an egg sack soon and will stop eating for a bit but she will have pretty much have already taken care of any problem insects.

Unlike you, I killed the big green monster we had in our shrubs. It freaked me out as well and having two small children, I figured it was better off dead. :uzi: :bounce3:
