Torro 6.5 HP Cheep and runs forever.
That's what I have. It's self propelled and rear bag. I got it in November 2003 when our house was built. Never had a problem.

I got a Craftsman Honda from Sears, self-propelled. Got it about 5 years ago and it still starts everytime on the first pull. Sorry but I can not remember what I paid for it.

i would say the torro 6.5 also but since letting it sit for 6months, now the only time it will run is when im spraying starter fluid directly into the carb.

I believe the carberator needs to be rebuild.

I have one with a honda motor. I think it is a toro but I could be wrong. Its been around for a good while and still start in no more than 2 pulls. Cant say enough good about it. :)

Dixie chopper or Exmark right around $5000 on the cheap side or $10,000 for the higher side mine was $8,500 besides a new engine last yr no problems and have over 2200 hrs in 3 yrs... by the way my a$$ hurts from sitting so much

Here ya go i have been thinking about geting one

Go down to Bender's and get the Torro. The Torro at Depot is the cheap version. I got mine at Benders and it came with a 5 year warranty, never one problem and Benders is the best around here.

Agree 100%, the Toro mowers at HD are not the same as those sold by Toro dealers. I bought one almost 10 years and if it ever dies I will try to buy another exactly like it. (I bought mine from Braun's here in north Tampa)

If you notice, the Toro mowers at HD have a "2 year starting guarantee", mine came with a 5 year guarantee. The motor itself is different too....there is a much more durable sleeve in the cylinder, overhead valve design, etc. I have probably only had to pull it more than * once * to start it maybe 5 times in 10 years, and with the blade brake clutch when you start it you don't turn the blade so it takes no effort at all.

10 years ago I paid almost $700, but I think they are still around that price and you get what you pay for.

1 â€"œ I think a good mower is worth fixing

2 - Consumer Reports likes Honda

3 - So does Consumer Search:

The 21-inch Honda HRX217K2HMA is a top-rated self-propelled gas lawn mower with luxury features that include an electric ignition

the less expensive Lawn-Boy 10795 Insight Platinum (*est. $550) does use a less polluting Honda OHV engine. It has a faster maximum speed and longer warranty.

I'd stick with the Honda Mower as well. Have had two for the past 16 years. Inbetween I purchased a Husquarvarna...never again as it only lasted 3 yrs.

Well I've narrowed it down to three... I'm going to Benders tomorrow to check out the Toro 20092. It appears to be a much better machine that the Toro's the HD carries..My 2nd and 3rd choice are the Honda and Lawn Boy at HD. I'll see i'm way over analyzing this, but I would really like to have my next mower 10+ years.

I would not get the lawn boy a friend has one and he has had nothing but problems with it, its the worst mower he has had and he has had a lot of mowers. I'm sure the Hondas are good after all its a Honda.

A newer one or an older one... Lawn Boy was bought out by Toro a couple years ago...

You really should also check out the 20093.......I was amazed at how easy it is to pull start these things when you are only turning the crankshaft. Also, if you need to cross anything (flower beds, etc) you can do so with the mower running but without the blade turning.
