SO I decided its TIME for a REAL vacation ;) There are some really good deals online lately for 7 night cruises. I have been on a cruise but Jeremy as never been so I am planing something for later this year... Aug sometime I think. I was wondering who has been and where did you go?

I was thinking one out of FL. since most go to The Cayman Is. Jamaica. Puerto Rico ect. Would LOVE to do a HI cruise but they are a bit on the pricey side but would likely come to about the same a as a FL. cruise when airfare is calculated in. Not sure but wanted to see if anyone had a particularly good experience. Wanting to spend around $500 per person (not including airfare tips ect)

Just be careful your not hitting Hurricane Season, we always wanted to do the FL cruises but when we wanted to go was always right smack dab in hurricane season. We did the 7 day cruise out of Houston that went to Cancun, Cozumel and the Roatan Islands in Honduras. It was great and if you dive cozumel and roatan are some of the top places in the world. My bar bill was almost as much as the cruise ;)

Nicole can you call me? When I try to dial your # it doesnt connect??? Not sure.

I know that if I go it will be during Hurricane season, which I think is June-November?

I am trying to decide on the mexico one that goes from From San Diego, California visiting Acapulco, Mexico; Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico; Manzanillo, Mexico
OR
Departs From Long Beach (Los Angeles), California visiting Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Mazatlan, Mexico; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

OR Go to FL and spend additional $205 round trip flights.
Departs From Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale), Florida visiting Key West, Florida; George Town, Grand Cayman; Ocho Rios, Jamaica (This is a $300 cruise!)
OR
Departs From Miami, Florida visiting George Town, Grand Cayman; Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; Cozumel, Mexico ($400)

The 3rd one listed is the most interesting to me. Roatan and Belize are places I'd love to check out. Great diving/snorkling on that trip.

ditto pescado @ Roatan and Belize.
I've heard that the cruises out of LA/San Diego are "meh". Also, don't cruise Hawai'i, there's really too much to see on each island. Cruising doesn't do it justice.

The only cruise I've been on was a 7 day to Bermuda. Loved it there.

I've done the cruises on Royal to Ensenada and Carnival to Cabo and had a blast (didn't think either one was "meh"). I'd like to do one the Caribbean ones out of Flordia sometime. That's a tough choice between those two. I'd like to go to Cozumel though for sure.

4218 makes a good point too, do make sure you have your passports in order first!

You know my thoughts, girl! ;)

Oh and 15 days to Hawaii from LA was not "meh"!! It did it justice just fine!! lol

Yes you will be in the heart of Hurricane season in August.
You might want to try a cruise to Alaska that time of year is wonderful. Prices are way down too.

You should get certified in scuba before you go if your not already....especially if youre going anywhere near the Caymans!

Hint hint!

I just went last thanksgiving to Roatan/Belize/Grand Cayman/Cozumel. O MY GOD!!! Carnival Cruise

My next trip will be a flight to Roatan, Honduras and I will do short trips from there. IT was sooo nice. Anthonys Key was sweet. and from Belize we went to tulum and snorkeling. I missed the big hole in the ocean http://www.gadling.com/2008/07/15/Belize-it-or-not-diving-the-blue-hole/ I found out about it after we got back

I even bought an underwater camera just for the moments we were out and about. got some neat pics. corals were cool. fish were awesome.

Just my $0.02

O yea been on a mexican cruise too 4 day from LA ..it was ehh.. but going on another in june farther down this time 7 day from LA.

This is the one I decided on :D Yippie! I have to get my passport still but have some time. Jeremy and I will submit the paperwork asap it takes what like 4 months? I know I can rush it and ill probably pay the extra $ to do so.

Its not 100% for sure yet but that's what its looking like. I love tax refund season :D

I'm so jealous!! But so happy for you... you deserve a vaction! G and I are so inspired that we are planning a similar cruise sometime in Octoberish.

I did a carnival cruise with my family when I was a little younger, and we did Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. Grand Cayman is amazing, you can do a trip to "Sting Ray City" where you go out on a boat to a giant sand bar, and get in the water with the rays. the rays are wild but come right up to you, they give you squid to feed them as well. Pretty wild!

I'm so excited for you! A few people here at work have gotten their passports fast, I think the backlog is gone.

@ Hawaii--different strokes for different folks ;) We spent a week on the Big Island and still feel like we didn't have enough time.
