Well, since is this the Chicagoland forum, figured this would be best.

Old Chicago band, Fig Dish (( couple of guys went on to form Caviar ))

Funny you bring them up Mike (the bassist) was an instructor of mine a couple years back. Really fun guy.

I am on an iPad so posting links to YouTube is kind of difficult, but I'll give you some of the stuff I have been listening to lately.

Timber Timbre - might recognize the song Magic Arrow if you watch Breaking Bad.

Tom Waits - been a favorite for years, but he has a new album coming out in a couple of weeks.

Finntroll - getting psyched for Elder Scrolls 5

A lot of late 50s early 60 lounge/exotica Tiki stuff. There is a great podcast called the Quiet Village which introduced me to many of those artists.

Prewar country blues - Robert Johnson and Leadbelly are where to start and then you wind up with a line of "Blind" artists on your mp3 player. Happened with my mento/calypso craze where I had a ton of Lord whatever.

If you want some straight up rock look up dust devil and strawberry by the Butthole Surfers.

I'm liking these songs everyone's posting! I'm only 19 so a lot of the older stuff i'm not familiar with but i'm digging it... New music sucks...

Small world. Him and Blake would come into the bar (( Matilda )). Heck, even has Scott from Local H work the door a couple of times. Those would very good times -- about 7 years ago -- but they took a tool on my body. ;)
