OT: Time Warner Cable and internet

earthlink BLOWS. if you ever do tech support best learn to speak indian... (sorry, dont know the pc word for that language)

But they use the local phone carier for thier tele / dsl needs. so it was business as usual for verizon...

The tech support and all the supervisors I coulld muster, (around 8-10 of them), could not or would not admit to the problem or to have anyone come out to my house and test it up to and including hte modem.

I even offered to pay for teh tech up front if needed, but if the problem lied with verizon or earthlink, I wanted to be reimbursed or crredited to apply to my bill.

They refused. I told them I spent countless hours with tech support for all my equipment, the router, the webcam, the aquacontroller, and all of them conceded to the fault lied with verizon, earthlink, or the modem and or it's setup...

Verizon would not do anything, earthlink would not do anything... The day I switched, prior to the time warner tech leaving my house after the installation, I was getting calls from people telling me my webcam and aquacontroller were online and working...

go figure... I did not even have to change anything, they just were working as soon as the new cable modem was activated

champion did not have anything in my neighborhood, although they have a contract with the city o Monrovia, they obviously are not complete yet.

So, it was verizon, (and any company that used dsl through Verizon), satelite internet, or timewarner. those were the choices I was stuck with...
