OT-Underwater Cameras

Our Boy Scout Venture Crew (boys and girls in this section of Boy Scouts) have been working hard to raise the funds to go to Seabase.

Two boys from one family are relying solely on the fundraising to pay for the trip as the economy hit their family hard recently foreclosed on their home. I'm hoping that someone here has an older underwater camera set-up (I'm talking 3 to 5 mega pixels) that they are able to let go at a very low price or even donate to the troop for these guys to use.

My husband and I have a couple of the 35mm with strobes we were going to let them used, but as we began to discuss things, realized the the cost of film and developing the film would be a financial hardship for the boys.

They will be using our children's scuba equipment and dive watches, so they're covered there. My husband and I just hate to see them miss out on the photography end of things.

I totally empathize with the situation and wish I could contribute more than this suggestion: the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP. It's a fairly cheap set up ($100ish) and could be found used on the bay pretty easily for cheaper. Perhaps donations could fund that. Wish I could do more.

Thought I'd check here to see what's available. I've been watching bay for housings - if I can pick one up at a reasonable price then I'll grab a camera (which are easier to get) for it - though you can get burned going that route, also. We have a housing my son lost the camera for - bought a camera on bay that was supposed to be in great working order and it didn't work at all. I was able to sent it back, but still got stuck for shipping.

any way we can donate? i dont have camera equipment but would like to donate for the trip. I grew up poor and know how it feels to miss out on things due to lack of funding, im not full of money but can skip a couple lunches for a good cause.
