Our 40g Island waterfall

ok so stocking plans:)


we have quite an extensive collection of zoanthids so the idea is to populate the island right at the water line with all our collector zoanthids , some sps and a few other frags :)

below the waterfall and bottom section of the island will be mostly lps with a few zoanthids mixed in:)

fish/shrimp so far we have :

2 x clown gobys
2 x neon gobies
1 x sailfin blenny
1 x sunburst anthias
2 x cleaner shrimp
1 x halloween crab



we would like to still add:

more cleaner shrimp ( 2 more)
some more clown gobies ( 2 more )
my pair of trojan clownfish ive had for years

i love the waterfall concept. how many gph are you getting with just the waterfall?

Not sure exactly what's getting pushed over its pretty slow though , it's fed from the return line and controlled via ball valve on back of the tank , it's choked back pretty good right now , using the dc pump helps for setting the whole system as a whole :)

Coralline is already growing on both the island and waterfall , as well there are two resident turbo snails that seem to have called the waterfall home so algae isn't becoming an issue up there yet , they both climbed up there them selves:)

We entertained the idea of a small rock arch bridge connecting the waterfall to the island but feared the crabs would get to the waterfall from the island and jump the edge to the floor, smelly crab shells that the dog would probably chew up and leave all over the house....the wife wouldn't like that ;)
