My tanks are drilled with internal overflows. As far as hang on back, I typically hear of people using CPRs because they're the quietest. Maybe yours is too big.
I wish now I bought a drilled tank.. I have a ViaAqua 2600 pump and a CS90 overflow. Overflow rated at 600gph and the pump at 740gph at 1 foot. The return is about at 3 1/2 foot.
I am not familiar with overflows and was unaware it could be to big.
It comes from the drain in the overflow. I build a Gurgle Buster, and put it in and help a little. Its quiet for awhile then its like a toilet flushing.
If you can't get it quieted down, you could always drill your current tank. There are lots of people in the area that could help. (assuming your tank is not tempered). Who is the manufacturer of the tank?
Looks like there are a couple different suggestions. Increase flow rate of pump or put a gate valve on your drain line to keep more water in the overflow chamber.
Probably more suggestions, but that is one of the first threads i read. Good luck!
you can drill the rear of a 75 most manufactures 75s only the bottoms are tempered. i have some glass left over from a coast to coast over flow out of my 150 you are welcome to it if you want to build one.
The tank is setup, so i would have to take down the system. I have never drilled glass and have no idea how to with destroying it.. And my luck I would destroy it..
Well broke down and bought a eshopps 800 overflow. Wow its quiet compared to the cpr overflow box. So if anyone is looking for a cpr cs90, I have one for sale.
