Pairing Helfrichi Firefish?

Decided I want to go with a "pairs" theme for my tank. Already have a pair of clowns. About to attempt pairing my Swissguard Basslet (rubre), and would like to pair my single Helfrichi Firefish.

Any advise into sexing, or adding a new Helfrichi to an established Helfrichi?

Best bet would be to buy them as a pair, they have no sexual characteristics that define a male or female. Same sex will fight and wind up killing one of them. I wish it was easy as I have one helfrichi as well and would love to pair it.

Is their sex determined at birth or can they change sex?
