Trying to find best way to photo my corals. Rough first try, but figured I would share a anyways. Hope everyone's tanks are doing well.

P.S. That's a real deal Palua Neon Green Nepthea. I got a very small frag from Dr. Fosters and Smith almost a year ago, almost killed it first time I fragged it and now have a healthy colony.

Several things that can help.

Make sure the ambient light is good. If the tank is brighter than the surrounding area/room, you'll have bleached out looking pics.

Turn off flow to reduce motion in the tank. Helps the camera focus.

Not sure what camera you have, but if an SLR, I generally use an fstop of 13-22 and the AV function. A tripod with remote switch helps snap the pic without moving the camera.

Then I take the pic to Photoshop and Autocorrect levels. Sometimes, this over does it, so you can Edit-->reduce autocorrect (or something along those lines) until it looks more accurate. Then I do a Save for Web and reduce size to 1080x whatever aspect ratio auto calculates.

Hope that helps.
