Is Sailing the Seas
Im leaving for the good ol redneck riveria on wednesdy & wa wondering if there are any good fish stores that anyone would suggest checking out while im there. :smokin:

Guess not. Gonna do some snorkling & try to come up with some ricordia or shrooms while im there.

I wouldn't put anything in my tank from around there. I guess I've just spent too many spring breaks down there and seen the horrible stuff that goes on near and in the ocean around that area.

Yea, I think you better becareful (law-wise) what you get from there. About 6 years ago or so I went snorkling off the jetties in the St Andrews State Park. I picked up 2 nice pieces of LR and they are in my aquarium today. Of course, they went dry in storage over the past 5 years, but they are back to life now and are probably the best 2 pieces of LR I have. Who knows where they came from. I'm sure they were shipped in from somewhere. With all that said, I'm sure it wasn't legal to take them. :O /me feels the flames coming now. lol.

I doubt a fishing license would make it legal either. However, if you at least get a fishing license... you could always tell the park ranger that you're going to fry up the ricordia and anything else you might gather. :) lol.

I think it is legal to collect soft corals with a salt water fishing license. Someone (a coral farmer in Fl) had this discussion in the Reef discussion forum and was pretty adamant that that was all that was required.

Yeah, live rock and stonies are definite no no's. Mobi might be able to fill us in a little better...

Thats right, any Octocoral can be collected. at least that is what Rick from ricksreefs was telling me. I don't remember him saying anything about a license though. I believe it is something like they do for Clam diggers. certain zones are ok at certain times of year, and others are not.
please don't quote me on this, I take no responsibility.:D

this may or may not help.
