Peppermint Shrimp attacked fire worm?

Calappidae

Harlequin Shrimp
I just got this new piece of live rock.. when I fed the tank, several fire worms peeked out.. my peppermint shrimp brutally murdered and attacked one the second it popped it.. is this common as I thought only CBS and arrow attacked them(invert wise)?

The pep went crazy ripping the worm in pieces and eating it.. ate it faster than it took my camera to turn on..

Not complaining, but I'm curious if this really is another fire/bristle worm predator along with aiptasia.

That is so crazy! You have an awesomely special shrimp there!
Lucky you! That is not usual. Not unheard of, but not usual either.
Your shrimp has a Chuck Norris personality. Lucky you.

Well... consituring I used to have him in a 30 gallon.. with a jar submerged in the tank housing a small little pink mantis shrimp.. I'm sure he learned a thing or too from her :D

It just surprises me how much the shrimp reacted to the fire worm...
I just added this new peice off rock, fed the tanks and I'm just watching all these little fire worms peek out... and in a split second outa know one just gets grabbed by my pep and torn to shreds in seconds.. don't mess with that guy...

My cleaner shrimp dismantled and ate a live bristle worm. Think he got a taste for worms since I feed black worms sometimes.

Peps can be vicious. I caught my pair dismembering a hermit crab once, they tag teamed him. One would sit behind the shell waiting while the other teased the crab then would back off. As soon as the crab started to come out to right itself they'd start tearing at his legs.

Im guessing peppermints kill them more often than we see. I had a scarlet cleaner shrimp that loved to kill bristleworms and my snails...
