ph Probe Readings

I recently purchased a Dr Daq with a pH probe and planned to leave in the sump to constantly monitor ph levels. After calibrating it I am getting strange readings when placing the probe in the sump. If I take a sample of water out of the tank or sump and measure the ph, I get an expected reading, around 8.2-8.3. If I place the probe in the sump or tank, the reading changes quite a bit but usually is around 5.8-6.2. Any thoughts what might be going on here?

You might be getting strange readings due to the electric pumps in the sump..stray voltage can cause this..the pump is also magnetic , move the probe away from these devices.
