PH Probe

How long do PH probes last? How often should they be replaced. I was told that PH probes only last 6 months to a year. Is this correct?

I hear about a year and that they need to be calibrated every 4 to 5 weeks. You will know when it needs to be replaced b/c it won't calibrate properly.

As long as you are able to calibrate, and the numbers dont drift too much over a short period of time, the probe is good. I have a probe that is 2 years old on a controller, it calibrates the same as a 6 month old probe on a meter I have. I only calibrate every 2-3 mos., this has worked well for me.
Probes must be kept wet. As long as the unused probe has been stored correctly it should be good.
