Alcohol is probably the most economically feasible way to clean any glass. Just try not to get it on vinyl or plastic.
It should evaporate completely and not leave any residual film.
We got a hold of some hospital grade adhesive remover that works great on label adhesive. Even on PLASTIC! but I would follow it up with alcohol for sure.
No Ibear, PVC is resistant to both wood and grain alcohol. On that just don't use nail polish removers that contain acetone. I was talking about acrylic plastic used for tanks. Only some acrylic plastics are alcohol safe and and they are not generally used for aquarium construction. Don't spill your Jack Daniel's on your tank!!!
