Phosban Reactor Need Hose Clamps On Elbows?

I just bought the phosban 150 with the extension kit to hang on the outside of the sump. Are the elbows leak proof or do they need hose clamps?

I put hose clamps on mine also. They seem to slide in and out of the elbow fairly easy. I also run mines externally. Better safe than sorry.

I have mine hanging in the sump and don't clamp the hose fitting on either reactor fixture. I do clamp the other side of the female coupling. Been doing this for over two years and never had a leak. I do this so I can readily remove the reactor to change the media. I have minimal flow going through all of mine, probably 110 gpm max.

All of this said, if mine hung outside the sump I'd probably clamp them also, better safe then sorry.

Plastic hose clamps or simple tighten zip ties. The problem with hoses sliding off comes later down the road when the tubing becomes more stiff.
