Phosphate reading

So I have been battling green hair algae for a little while. I switched food, added a refugium with mud, sand, chaeto and mangroves. I just changed my RO filters but not the DI filters. The DI filters have not turned from blue to brown yet which means there is still life in them. The membrane is about 6 months old. I just did a phosphate test twice straight from the filter using my Red Sea Phosphate kit. It is reading at 0.08. Is this still a high enough reading to allow the growth the GHA?

All my other water tests are good. Nitrate at 0, etc. TDS reads 000.

How old is your tank? How often do you do water changes. Maintenance routine? Bioload? Filtration?

tank is about 6 months old. water changes about once a month. I change the filter sock and clean out the skimmer once a week. i have a mix of fish 2 inches and smaller, about 8 fish in total. I have filter sock, skimmer, refugium, GFO reactor.

Ben- bring me a sample of water right from RFO/DI, and from tank. Ill measure with my Hanna.

Are you running GFO?
