Photosyntisis and PH

Morning Randy,

I have learned through you that the reason my PH is higher at the end of the light cycle is due to photosynthesis most likely.

My question is this. About 6 months ago, I changed my 10000K bulb out to a 6700K thinking less light would slow down my algae growth. Well it didn't as my Po4 and nitrate is up. (I'm working on that). Now I'm wondering if the 10000K bulb creates more photosynthesis and would raise my PH.

Any thoughts?

Photosynthesis is driven more by total light output than the color of it, within reasonable limits, and I do not know the total light output of the bulbs you are using.

O.K. thanks. I guess there is one way to find out. I think I'll switch the bulbs tonight and watch it for a week or so. :)
