Here are some pics of my fiji and kaelini live rock. I bought it uncured from reefer maddness and premium aquatics.

The pics don't do the fiji from PA justice best I have ever seen. The kaelini from reefermadness is nice as well.

Looks like you have all kinds of dead/dieing matter on those rocks, should of cooked 'em.

Looks like good rock. Lots of nooks and crannies for wedging coral plugs.
You'll want to toss some scavengers in there, cleanup crews. I think I see some hair algae, and you don't want that to bloom if there is a nutrient spike from the decomposition of LR critters.

The fiji has just been curing for 3 days now. The kaelini for 10 days. If I put a cleanup crew in there now wouldn't it kill them. I see some algae starting to grow on the kaelini now. Jim

i got some fiji from PA and it is nice also.

Just checked my ammonia, nitrites and nitrates and they read ammonia 0
nitrites highest color on the chart 4
nitrates highest color on the chart 100

I am starting to get a brownish golden algae on the rocks and also some green algae. Jim

If you are worried about the algea only leave the lights on for a couple hours each day. The rock does not need the light to cure, and with them off it will help to limit the algea growth untill the params are good enough for a clean up crew. JMO

I have had the lights on for 4 hours a day I will cut it down. Is it normal for my nitrites and nitrates to be this high? Am I starting to cycle? Jim
