Any thoughts and criticisms on Aquascaping?

The Macro algae has grown suprisingly fast. Being that i have not done the refugium mod yet i have let it go. Figure it has to be helping water conditions/ parameters

Temp: 81 deg
SG: 1.025
Ammonia: .25
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
PH: 8.3 to 8.38

Stocking:

1- True perc clown
1- Goby firefish
20- Trochus snails
4- blue leg hermits

Corals:

Alvapora

&

4" dia of Zoo's 20-25+ polyps

Should i let the Macrocontinue to grow or trim it back. It wasn't bad before, now takes away from the display i think.

Glass could be cleaner i know. Sorry
Some sand build up on LR due to pump outlet set near surface for some surface agitation. I moved back down some towards the rock. Reduces current and sand bar effect.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Looks good!

Looks good!

Looks good to me, just bought the same tank last night at Something Fishy and set it up for the kids today (had a cheap plastic Eclipse 12 setup prior to the Aquapod)

Where did you get the macroalgae? looking for some myself. The tanks look like clones minus the corals, ours is just sand and rock.

Can't beat these little things, pretty cool little package they've put together. Almost makes me want to take down the 210g office tank and just put one of these on my desk.

Lakeside,

tank looks great!

Scott,

if you need macroalgae - I have tons which I have to through out soon ( grows like weed ).

I think the macro Scott is talking about is a bit different from the macro Rainer is talking about.

btw...nice little set-up! What you intend on stocking it with?

Next additions will be:

1- cleaner shrimp

Corals:
Yellow polyps
Frogspawn
Some Shrooms
Torch coral

Possibly a Candy cane or trumpet coral

Or some

Sps maybe- big maybe.

Thinking we should have gotten the 24 gal pod but it doesn't have surface skimming.

We are open to frag ideas if anyone has some to share?

You can see the Macro on the face of the large rock. Its has grown more then twice its original size. Do you just pluck it or trim it with scissors? I figure with the LR i have it should be good natural filtration. Alot growing on it. Red and pink coraline, macro, various types.

Nice tank, where did you get the true perc?? I bought two from eddie's, they were kind enough to hold them each for a week for me to see if they were healthy :) so far so good. One of mine on hold they put in the anemone tank and was hosting every anemone in there lol. I like the aquascpaing also... I wish I had my aquascaping as nice looking

I picked him up from Eddies Friday. They had 3 left. Best looking of the 3 so had to have him. Put on hold and picked him up that nite.

Any pics scorp1on? Possibly interested. Plus your local;)

The tank isn't bad. Needs alittle work. I have some other pics I'll post later on. See if the space is to confining. May need to get a 30 gal or 55 gal reef now:( Arrrr you people know how to get one hooked. lol

Thanks

I'll have the wife get the camera I bought her for the holidays and take a pic. It is a mettalic one from the frag workshop. Also MAY be selling a 100g acrylic tank with stand.

Thanks Scorp1on;) I did read that. Luckily ours is an '06 model i believe that was something previous. I would hate to find out the hard way.. lol

Is funny how they have "Air pump" in discription" kind of confusing as to no air pump. Must mean water pump?

3 outlets for lighting- 10K's, Actinics and LEDS

1 outlet for pump

1 outlet for heater
