Pillow Stuffing As Filter Floss

I was just at Walmarts today and wandered over to the craft section.i came upon the stuffing for pillows.Which one would be good to use as filter floss in my Fluval?This would be a really cheap alternative to buying it in the LFS.The question was on here a while back,but the search engine is busy.Tanks a lot

Just last week a friend of mine told me that he's been doing that very thing...Walmart...and all, and that his African Cichlid tank have been very fine with it...This is NOT an endorsement of Walmart....yuck.

Been using the stuff for years now. I like to use the cheap white nylons 3 for a buck as filter socks to. They're very fine mesh and work great.

Oh, and I find that the matted sheets of the stuff work better than just the loose stuff.

Be very careful using something like that. You never know if it will release poisons into the tank or if it was treated with something anti-bacterial.

Honestly, I think the best solution is to get rid of the Fluval entirely

hey neilpearson. I lived in Phoenix for two years. How do you deal with prices for saltwater live stock down there?. I used to go to Ocean floor, MAN! was that expensive.
