Pink Birds nest - Algae Help!

I purchased a pinks birds nest that came with green algae growing on parts of it. What is the best way to get rid of the algae without hurting it?

Put it in good flow and make sure your phosphate/nitrates are at good levels is the best thing I can tell you to do for it. You could maybe use a really soft toothbrush to get off some if there is a lot on it but I wouldnt really recomend that. If the algae is at the tips you could also just cut the tips off.

I dont think you can do anything really but put it in an environment that will allow the SPS to fight it off. It was probably put into direct flow at some point and it killed the tissue where the water was hitting it. If its put in a good spot with good conditions it will recover on its own and regrow the tissue where the algae is.

give it some time and good flow . mine had the same thing going on when i first bought it. i cliped off the covered ends and let it recover on its own. it growing like crazy now. i can see new growth allmost every day!

So what's the difference between Good Flow and Direct Flow?

I've got a few locline outputs from my OM Squirt shooting in between some SPS, and they seem to like it. The jet of water is pretty direct for one side of the SPSs. Is this a bad thing?

Thanks for all the good advice. Not sure what I am going to do yet, but I'll keep you posted.
Thanks
