Placement of FX300 Series Gyre Pumps

I have a 72x18 Marineland dual overflow reef tank with mostly LPS. Do folks have any suggestions as to placement of 2 FX 330 Gyre pumps? I prefer the action of the Gyre and price over 2 MP40s.

Most place them on a side, close to the top of the water.

Just be careful when you turn them on for the 1st time. Dont crank them to full power right away. Read several stories of people doing that, and subsequently creating 2-3" wave that splashed water over the side of tank and onto the ground lol

How did you end up placing them, and did it work out? I have one and I’m thinking about swapping it for a pair of Vortechs.

I set them at 30%. So far so good.
