One year anniversary coming up on the 19th. Looking for suggestions on where to take the little woman for a nice dinner. She wants Black Angus...sorry dear, we can go there any day.

I'm near 19th ave and Peoria so nothing too far off. Scottsdale or downtown would be perfect. Mesa/Tempe would be doable but would have to be worth the drive.

Looking to spend between $20-40 per person at a nice place that actually requires their customers not be wearing jeans and a Slayer t-shirt. :)

I'll be searching the web, etc but wanted to get you guys "local opinion".

hmm good idea :)

I was just looking at Alto ristorante. Different Pointe of View also caught my eye.

Forgot how many world famous chefs there are in this valley.

The Melting Pot. You can reserve a table that can be closed off from the rest for a romantic dinner. Can have flowers, a card, or other items placed there before you arrive. Its Fondue based restaurant.

Good steaks - Capital Grill is my first choice. Flemings comes in at second.

For a purely romatic dinner in very nice romantic setttings, T-Cooks at the Royal Palms or Elements at the Sanctuary Resort. Bonus is at these resorts, you can walk around afterwards, and if you are so inclined....

You won't regret it.

House of Trixx in Tempe or Barrio Cafe 16th St. And Thomas are nice and not mainstream. You can get reservations at Trixx but not at Barrio. This means e wait can sometimes be long but tables for two are usually pretty quick. Fuego Bistro has a nice courtyard is relatively close to Barrio.

I've always like TCooks at the Point, it's about 40 - 60 a person though. Around 50th st and Camelback, but the food is awesome.

Monti's Steak House in Tempe has great food!! They are off Mill Ave. and have a spooky ambience if you like ghost stories.... Kinda dark and private.... And in that 20-40 per plate range. Sometimes they have movie and dinner combo's. Ruth Chris Steak House is really good but really expensive! Like 50-120 per plate.....

Lon's is a very nice place I have been there twice. It is on the pricey side but they apart of the hermosa inn and have small cottages that you can rent.

Absolutely The best Prime Rib and Steak in town... http://www.mortons.com/

Now This place My wife and I discovered by accident. We go to the Boulders once a year for an in Valley get-away and the resort booked us here for a dinner adn we loved it. The Chef makes the Menu every morning and off the top of his head and whatever is fresh at the market. When you sit down and order they make triple orders and give little samples of everything to everyone in the restraunt. The Staff is fun and Fast! It is nestled in a little strip mall in Cave Creek and doesn't look like much form the outside, but is worth every penny spent. http://binkleysrestaurant.com/

Good Luck and Congrats on the first of many!!

Melting pot is awesome.... If you want something off the path try the Carefree Resort. I had dinner there 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend and his family who is planning a wedding there. The grounds are beautiful and there are several huge fire pits that you can sit and relax by sipping drinks under a million stars. Its a "different" kind or romantic. Its also nice because its far from traffic and nice and quiet. Its kinda by the boulders resort out there. Dinner is not cheap thou lol. Our tab was $450 for 6 of us but they comped it since we were there to decide if they were going to have their wedding there. Its a nice place IMO and off the beaten path. Rooms are like $100 and they have a spa so if you wanna get really romantic lol. http://www.carefree-resort.com/

Bill and I always celebrate my birthday at The Salt Cellar (if you are seafood people). It gets very busy on the weekends, reservations are a must.
We go to Tutti Santi on our anniversary, I have only been to the Mesa location, but they know us by name even though we only come in once a year. Great service and awesome food.
The Keg Steakhouse is also a very nice atmosphere and really great food. You will have to tell us where you ended up going!
