Please help..I have little fleas swiming on my mantel

I noticed this morning when the lights turned on in my tank that there were about 10 little flea looking things on my cermosa mantel. It looked like ich on a fish except they jump up and swim around.

After searching RC I have found two threads that mention Rickettsia and clam-mydia, except they don't go into detail.

This is my first clam. He is about 4" and I have only had him for about two months.

He looks very happy..
I would appreciate any comments.

I would think they may just be harmless little copepods.
As long as the clam is extending its mantle, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Also, growing clams will have a clean white layer at the top of each shell. Good way to determine health...I personally use it as a guide to confirm that my Calcium levels are good.

Hi Graham,
I think you are right. Wow what a relief.
They don't seem to be bothering him at all.
They slowly disappear after the lights come on.

The clam is fully expanded and reacting normal. It has a white new layer growing around the top of the shell. It started this about a month ago.
